Option 01

Nitrous Oxide

Commonly known as "laughing gas," nitrous oxide is our gentlest and most popular sedation option. Administered through a small, comfortable mask placed over your nose, it induces a light state of relaxation within minutes — while keeping you fully conscious and able to respond to Dr. Paulina Labuz throughout your appointment.

One of the greatest advantages of nitrous oxide is how quickly it wears off. The effects dissipate within minutes of removing the mask, meaning most patients can drive themselves home and return to their normal day immediately after treatment.

Nitrous oxide is safe for both adults and children and is an ideal choice for patients with mild to moderate dental anxiety, a sensitive gag reflex, or those undergoing longer procedures.

Option 02

Oral Sedation

Oral sedation involves taking a prescribed pill — typically a benzodiazepine such as triazolam — approximately one hour before your appointment. The medication produces a deeper sense of calm and drowsiness than nitrous oxide, making it an excellent option for patients with moderate to severe dental anxiety.

You will remain awake and able to follow instructions, but many patients feel so relaxed that they have little to no memory of the procedure afterward. This can make lengthy or complex treatments feel as though they passed in just moments.

Because the effects of oral sedation last several hours, you will need a trusted adult to drive you to and from your appointment. Dr. Paulina Labuz will review your medical history and discuss appropriate dosing during your consultation.

Option 03

IV Sedation

IV sedation delivers sedative medication directly into your bloodstream through a small intravenous line, providing the deepest level of conscious sedation we offer. It takes effect almost immediately and allows Dr. Paulina Labuz to precisely adjust the level of sedation throughout your procedure.

Patients under IV sedation are in a profoundly relaxed, sleep-like state and typically have no memory of the procedure at all. It is the preferred choice for patients with severe dental phobia, those undergoing extensive treatment in a single visit, or patients with special needs who may have difficulty sitting through a procedure.

Your safety is our top priority. Throughout the procedure, Dr. Paulina Labuz and her team continuously monitor your vital signs. A responsible adult must accompany you home, and you should plan to rest for the remainder of the day.
